Your Details, Looked After Plainly
In short: we ask for the details we need to deliver your turf and answer your questions, we use them for that, we share them only with the services that help us do it, and we don't sell them. The rest of this page explains each part.
The details we ask you for
When you order, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and postcode, your chosen date, and any parking or access notes you add. We need these to take your payment, cut and deliver your turf, and contact you about your order. When you send a question through the contact form, we ask for your name and contact details so we can reply, plus whatever you choose to tell us about your garden.
We don't receive or store your full card details. They're typed into our card payment provider's secure page and stay with that provider.
When you ask for a turf laying quote, we ask for your name, email address, mobile number, address or plot number, an idea of your garden's size, your preferred installation date and anything else you tell us about the garden. We use these to prepare your quote and contact you about it. How quotes and bookings work is set out in our turf laying terms.
How we contact you
When you ask for a quote, place an order or send us a message, we contact you about your quote, order or enquiry and about relevant services. We do this by phone call, SMS, WhatsApp, email or similar. Our forms ask you to agree to this before you send them.
You can update your contact preferences, or opt out, at any time. Send a message through our contact page and tell us what you'd like to change.
Garden descriptions, photos and access notes
You can add parking or access notes to your order, and you may send us a description or photo of your garden. We treat these with the same care as the rest of your details.
Used for your order only
Parking and access notes are passed to whoever is delivering your turf, so they can plan the delivery. Photos and descriptions are used to advise you and plan your delivery. We never publish a photo you've sent us, on this website or anywhere else, unless you've told us you're happy for us to.
On turf laying jobs, we may take our own before-and-after photos and videos of the lawn for our records and marketing, as our turf laying terms explain. Tell us before we start if you'd rather we didn't use them for marketing.
Services that handle your details for us
Your payment is processed by our card payment provider. Your order and enquiry details are stored in our order system so we can prepare, deliver and keep track of them. The people who deliver your turf see the details they need to do that: your name, address, phone number and access notes. If you agree to analytics cookies, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity receive data on which pages are visited and how they're used. Your order and contact details aren't part of that.
We don't sell customer details, and we don't pass them to anyone for advertising their own products. We'd only share them with anyone else if the law required us to.
Keeping and deleting records
We keep order records for 6 years, because we need them for our accounts and to deal with any later questions about an order. Enquiries that didn't lead to an order are kept for 6 years and then deleted. Garden photos you send us, and photos we take on turf laying jobs, are kept for 6 years.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that's wrong, or ask us to delete details we no longer need to keep. Send your request through the contact page and we'll reply as soon as we can. You can also change your cookie choices at any time, as explained on our cookies page.
Should something about the way we've used your information worry you, raise it with us first and we'll try to settle it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
